At Impact Collision Forensics, our mission is to provide precise, science-based collision analysis and advanced vehicle data expertise that brings clarity, accuracy, and confidence to every case. Founded by David Carr, Impact Collision Forensics combines decades of real-world investigative experience with cutting-edge forensic technology to deliver reliable and defensible results for attorneys, insurance companies, investigators, and reconstruction professionals.

David Carr is a retired Vehicular Crimes Detective and Certified Arizona Peace Officer with over 20 years of law enforcement experience. During his career, he responded to thousands of traffic collisions ranging from property-damage incidents to complex multiple-fatality crashes. For 13 years, he served full-time on a Vehicular Crimes Squad, where he specialized in investigating high-profile, fatal, serious-injury, DUI, hit-and-run, and city-liability collisions.

Throughout his career, David conducted extensive Event Data Recorder (EDR) downloads and analyses, scene investigations, vehicle inspections, forensic testing, and reconstruction support, which frequently resulted in expert testimony in multiple levels of court proceedings. He also worked alongside traffic engineers and professional reconstruction organizations on research and development projects involving acceleration and deceleration testing, site obstruction analysis, pedestrian collisions, and child restraint safety.

Since retiring from the City of Glendale, David has continued his work as a private Collision Reconstructionist, Impairment Expert, and EDR Specialist, consulting independently and alongside engineering firms, including Augspurger Komm Engineering, Inc. His services have been retained by law firms, insurance companies, municipalities, and reconstruction experts across a wide range of complex cases.

David has completed thousands of hours of advanced training through nationally recognized institutions, including the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) and the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety. He maintains active involvement in leading professional organizations, including SATAI (Southwestern Association of Traffic Accident Investigators), NAPARS (National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists), INCR (International Network of Collision Reconstructionists), and SAE International (Society of Automotive Engineers).

In addition to field investigations, David has participated in 27 instrumented crash tests and demonstrations, with research findings published in Accident Reconstruction Journal and Collision Magazine. He has also presented at EDR Summit conferences and contributed to industry publications focused on crash research and forensic analysis.
